OLIVER Morgan has been causing a slash at Ludlow Swimming Club.

Over the last three galas, he has swum in both the under-13 and under-15 categories as well as the under-11's.

Head coach Adam Fear said he has been amazed at how well he has done.

"He also swam in the open relay at the end of the gala and he did it in style by overtaking the lane next to us, giving us a better shot in the last legs of the race," said Fear.

"We should all be proud of his abilities and effort he puts in to Ludlow Swimming Club."

There have been other outstanding achievements at the club.

Sisters Lauren and Katie Wright have both swum well, with Lauren stepping in to swim the open ladies backstroke, as well as her own age group and four relays.

And Jack Corston won again in the 15 and under 100m backstroke in a time of 1:07.95.

Ludlow finished the evening with 166 points and in third place, behind Camphill and Blyth and above Perry Beeches and Telford.

"I am very proud of everyone who has taken part in the series of galas," added Fear.

"It has been a pleasure over the last two years to call myself the head coach of a great club.

"There's still work to be done in 2015 but this could be our year to leap forwards in our performance abilities."

The club will be holding an open day on Saturday, January 31 from 8.30am to 10.15am where you can have a look around the club.

Master sessions will then take place from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 3.

The lessons aim to improve ability, stamina and fitness from learning to swim to competitive swimming.

The first three sessions are free if you join.
