ORLETON Colts manager Kristian Morgan was delighted his side got back to winning ways against rivals Tenbury United.

Colts had not won for four games and were missing a number of key players for last Saturday's game.

But they put those problems to one side to comfortably win 3-1.

"We played very well despite only have a scratch side out," said Morgan.

"We only had six first team players in the team, so a lot of the reserves played because they did not have a game.

"We have been a bit down lately and to be honest I didn't expect us to win.

"They had a strong side out, but we battled well."

Shane Jennings opened the scoring for Orleton in the 20th minute before Adam Rooke doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Tenbury pulled a goal back five minutes after the break and, at that stage, it was anyone's game.

But Orleton ensured it was them who would pick up the win when Mike Shillcock with 25 minutes to go.

This Sunday, Orleton are holding a charity game in aid of a former player who died in a road traffic accident four years ago.

Church Stretton grabbed their second successive win to stun high-flying FC Oswestry Town in Mercian League Premier Division.

Kevin Renshaw scored twice and Matt Jones to secure three excellent points for Paul Smith's men.

Bishops Castle player-manager Alex Jones said his team could have scored more than the five they mustered against Claverley in Division One.

Andrew Green scored twice on his return to the side, with Harry Evans, Jake Cintra and Niall Thomas grabbing the others.

"It should have been a lot more," said Jones.

"It was 1-1 at half-time, but it should have been five or six to us.

"They came back a bit in the second half, but then seemed to fold.

"Getting three points is the main thing and that is what we did."

Newcastle crashed out of the Pip Samuel League Cup following a penalty shoot-out defeat at St Harmon.

Tom Price opened the scoring for Newcastle in the second half before St Harmon drew level with 15 minutes to go.

The home side then took the lead before Sam Morgan scored from 30 yards to take the tie into extra-time.

The game remained 2-2, with St Harmon winning the shoot-out 4-1, Simon Oakley scoring Newcastle's penalty.
