NEWCASTLE twice came from behind to secure a 3-3 draw against Brecon Northcote in Mid Wales League (South).

John Goodridge's side took an early lead through Scott Oxford but suffered a blow after 25 minutes when centre-back Simon Oakley was forced from the field after sustaining an injury.

That led to leading scorer Craig Morris filling in at the back.

Josh Morgan, who has been in fine form of late, then failed to reappear after the break after suffering a knee injury and Brecon soon levelled the match.

They then went in front from the penalty spot after Morris was adjudged to have handled in the area.

But Oxford restored parity for Newcastle with an excellent finish into the far corner.

Brecon regained the lead with another controversial goal after Newcastle felt the ball had been handled in the build-up.

But back came Newcastle who made it 3-3 with a penalty from Morris after he was pushed in the box.

Newcastle will be hoping that they will take the positives from the match into this Saturday's game against leaders Hay St Mary's Reserves.
