AFC Ludlow manager Dave Cooper knows his team must perform to their full potential if they are going to beat Bromyard Town in a top-of-the-table West Midlands League Division One encounter this weekend.

Cooper’s boys trail Bromyard by five points, but beat them earlier in the season.

Bromyard have drawn their last two games, while AFC Ludlow go into the match on the back of a 1-0 home defeat against Team Dudley.

Neither team played last Saturday due to their scheduled games being postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

“It will be a tough game, but we beat them once, so we can do so again,” said Cooper.

“But we have to play somewhere near to that game in order to do that.

“Anyone in this league can beat anyone on their day, which was shown by us losing Team Dudley and Wyrley, who are both in the lower half of the table.

“But if we perform like we did against Team Dudley, then we will lose.”

Jamie Smith will definitely be missing due to having a groin operation, as is Simon Ball with a back injury.

At the time of going to press, Cooper was waiting to hear if Dale Hodge will be available.

However, the AFC Ludlow boss says 17-year-old George Sankey is ready to step into the first-team squad after impressing in training.

“He signed at the start of the season and has played a few games for Brimfield and Brown Clee,” said Cooper.

“He is an attacking player with a lot of pace and has a good left foot."

The match at the Showtime Stadium will kick-off at 2pm.
