TENBURY Town manager Bob Sumner said he is very pleased with how the season is going following a stunning comeback win against higher-graded Holme Lacy last Saturday.

Goals from Stuart Skidmore and Dave Coupland in the last eight minutes won the game for Town that saw them progress in the HJ Handley Cup at a muddy Palmers Meadow.

However, after already beating Division One sides Fownhope Reserves and Woofferton this season, Sumner says that disposing of Holme Lacy was not unusual.

"It's coming a bit natural now," said Sumner.

"It wasn't the best performance and they pushed us but we clinched it in the last 10 minutes.

"I think their man getting sent off was a bit of a killer for them and they struggled with ten.

"At the beginning of the season, we had a few ups and downs with players leaving and not knowing what was going to happen, but I think they players we have got in have filled holes and working nicely together.

"The two centre-backs are playing quite well together and have formed a nice partnership.

"We have got pace upfront and a hard-working midfield.

"I thought Chris Patton was probably our star man last Saturday because he did a lot of running and a lot of tracking back."

The key moment in last Saturday's game was when Holme Lacy's Phil Thomas was sent off 21 minutes from time for two bookable offences.

Lacy were 2-1 up at the time having twice led through goals from Kris Sellars and Richie Macdonald.

But Skidmore equalised when he got on the end of a perfect cross from Patton having run the length of the pitch before Coupland grabbed the winner in rather fortuitous circumstances.

His cross was clearly going over the bar, but the windy conditions saw the ball go over the line before Holme Lacy goalkeeper Martin Francis could scoop it out.

Alex Bright made sure by stabbing it home, but the goal had already been credited to Coupland.

Town are back in league action this Saturday when they travel to Civil Service in Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division Two.

"They have only played a few in the league, so we will see how it goes," said Sumner.

"We will treat it all the same.

"We want to come out of the year winning something and the cups are going towards it."
