BRIMFIELD boss Duncan Morris rued missed chances as his side went down 4-1 against Bromyard in Herefordshire Football League Division One.

It looked as if Brimfield would hold onto the point against the league leaders, but Bromyard scored three goals in the last eight minutes to win the match.

"In the second half we should have scored three or four goals and we missed the chances," said Morris.

"What was happened was we were penalised.

"They came back in the game and I decided to make my changes.

"I could have made it tighter but I've got four subs on the bench.

"By the time I made my last substitution the referee blew his whistle so I couldn't use everybody."

Bromyard opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Chris Jefferson thumped home a corner.

Josh Partidge tested Bromyard goalkeeper Darren Tickle from distance five minutes later before James Byatt failed to fire the ball home from inside the box.

Byatt did get on the scoresheet in the 34th minute minute when he tapped the ball home and the sides went into half-time level pegging.

Bromyard's Dale Allan failed to get on the end of a lofted ball in the 71st minute before Brimfield's Jason Mynett dragged his effort wide two minutes later.

But Allan did put his side ahead eight minutes from time when his cross deceived Brimfield goalkeeper Jamie Vickery.

Jefferson then grabbed his second goal of the game before substitute Tom Smith put the ball into his own net after Dean Corbett's effort hit a post.

"We have lose three players to Woofferton and one to Orleton and that will take some re-building," said Morris.

"But I've got new players who have come into the fold and those players are starting to do what I want.

"I am re-building and I am confident we will finish strongly."

Meanwhile in the same league, Dan Hicks scored twice as Woofferton beat Wellington Colts 3-1.

Si Bradley was also on the scoresheet in the routine win.

"We knew it was a must win game because the league leaders Bromyard and Ledbury aren't really dropping points at the moment," said Woofferton player/secretary Dave 'Magnum' Thomas.

"The lads played good football and we deserved the win.

"We're away to Hinton Reserves this coming weekend and confidence should be high.

"Dan Gower's scoring plenty of goals at the moment and we've seen Si Bradley and Dan Hicks starting to knock a few in as well."
