ROB and Lyn Pinner once again took home the order of merit plate at Cleobury Golf Club (CMGC).

The mixed section at the club have been playing nine holes on a Thursday, with the winners receiving prizes and points.

The points then go towards an order of merit.

Rod and Annette Jukes organised the event and hope to do so again next year.

Meanwhile, CMGC member Paul Francis was celebrating after winning the men's double roll-up.

Francis shot a fantastic 40 points to win by two shots ahead of Yoshi Oyama and Andy Thomas.

But it was not all plain-sailing for Francis.

The golfer finished the last hole on zero points after finding the lake on the intimidating ninth called "Foxes Run".

"It is great to see Paul get his first win of the season," said spokesman Dave Pain.

"Paul has been playing some great golf for a number of weeks now and it seems to have come together for this competition."

Francis has been at the club for three years, while Oyama was a founding member and Thomas has been involved for about six years.
