CLEOBURY Mortimer Golf Club has holed its biggest prize yet by being named a brand ambassador to a leading sports clothing firm.

Stuburt Golf has chosen the Shropshire club to be its first ever UK brand ambassador having proven to be a popular clothing choice by players there in the past 12 months.

The move means Cleobury's golf centre will be transformed to stock the firm's specialist items including golfing shoes, jackets and shirts.

Stuburt approached the golf club after becoming aware of its work in promoting the brand at grass roots level.

The deal was sealed after Dave Pain, Cleobury's director of golf, met with the sporting firm's bosses at their Manchester headquarters before welcoming them to the Shropshire club.

"We are delighted to have Dave and Cleobury Mortimer onboard as our first ever brand ambassadors," said Stuburt's UK and Europe sales manager, Steve Grant.

"Stuburt has been massive growth over the last 18 months and we want to push on with that growth in 2015.

"Cleobury Mortimer is a vibrant, modern and growing golf club. Dave and his team are committed, passionate and dedicated to their jobs and driving Stuburt forward.

"I would like to thank the customers of Cleobury for getting behind the brand and supporting us."
