BISHOPS Castle captain Jack Holloway was left frustrated after his team agonisingly lost a thrilling Midlands Four (West) game against Bromyard last Saturday.

Castle had brilliantly got back into the match following a sluggish start and led 29-23.

But a try by Bromyard's Gregory Leighton in the last minute, which was converted by Chris Rowberry, saw the Herefordshire side snatch victory.

"We threw the game away in the first 10 minutes and then to get so close was disappointing," said Holloway.

"But if we didn't allow them into the game early on, we would have blitzed them.

"There were some notable mistakes, like the one that let their try in through a missed tackle and a few knock-ons.

"I think we need to learn from our mistakes and get the ball out a bit quicker."

Henry Wilson kicked over a penalty in the 11th minute to put Castle ahead, but Bromyard stormed back through tries from Jamie Williams and Steve Barratt.

Philip Oliver went over the line to reduce the deficit, but Bromyard went 17-8 up through a John Parker try and a Chris Rowberry conversion.

Rowberry then kicked over a penalty before Castle's Andrew Dale went over the line on the stroke of half-time, which was converted by Wilson.

Wilson then converted his own try before Oliver grabbed his second of the match, but it was Bromyard who secured the win.
