TENBURY United joint manager Nick Stocker said that the team has noticed the step up top the Herefordshire Premier League.

United won Division One at a canter last season, but have lost three of their opening four games this campaign.

But after easing past Lads Club Reserves in the first round of the HFA Charity Bowl last Saturday, Stocker believes that the side can only get better.

"It was our best performance of the season by far," said Stocker.

"We have now got a goalkeeper in Sean Baldwin and Dale Withers, Lee Millichip, Mike Foster and Aaron Morris are still here.

"There is a lot of experience in the side, but we also have some young players too.

"We will be happy for a top five finish this year because it has been a massive step up for the lads.

"It has been a real eye-opener after winning the league last season."

Morris opened the scoring for Tenbury against Lads Club Reserves via the penalty spot after Ashley Giles was brought down.

Ian Patterson then grabbed a brace to ensure that United went into the break 3-0 up.

Lads Club Reserves pulled a goal back in the second half, but never truly troubled United.

Stocker's team will now face Leominster Town at Palmers Meadow on November 15.

United are again in cup action this weekend when they face Inkberrow Reserves in the Worcester Minor Cup.

"Over the years, we have done well in the cup and got to the semi-finals last year," said Stocker.

We should be back to having a full side, so we should give them a good game.

"The problem is that we do not know anything about some teams, so we'll see how we'll fare."
