AFC LUDLOW boss Dave Cooper was still not happy with his team despite beating top-of-the-table Bromyard Town in West Midlands League Division One.

Cooper laid into his side following a 4-1 thrashing against Warley the previous week, calling the performance "embarrassing".

And, even though AFC Ludlow bounced back in style to upstage league leaders Bromyard, Cooper was believed that they could have played better.

"I'm happy with the result but the performance wasn’t up to much," said Cooper.

“We were abysmal against Warley, and this week we were Jekyll and Hyde, but it was much better.

“I know we’ve got a good side, and I think 1-0 flattered Bromyard because we’ve hit the post and missed a penalty.

“I just think our work ethic was a lot better than theirs and we fancy ourselves going into most games."

AFC Ludlow could have had a penalty in the 11th minute when striker Jamie Smith went under the challenge of Bromyard's Sean Smallcross.

Smith then hit the post and forced a save out of home keeper Dean Smith.

But Cooper's team did open the scoring two minutes into the second half through a combination of Marian and Martin Jusko.

Marian laid it off to Martin to score and, from that moment on, AFC Ludlow never looked back.

They had a glorious chance to extend their lead via the penalty spot, but Keanu Cooper saw his spot-kick saved.

Bromyard's Luke Molloy was sent off for the foul, before Aston Gunter saw red, leaving Bromyard with nine men.

"My ambition is to compete in this division because we've been together for two years now," said Cooper.

“We’ll take each game as it comes and we’ve not won anything yet."

AFC Ludlow are home to Shenstone this Saturday.
