Wyrley 4 AFC Ludlow 1

AFC Ludlow boss Dave Cooper said that his players can have no complaints if he changes things around against Bromyard Town this weekend following "the worst day in his career."

Cooper was furious following a thrashing by Wyrley in West Midlands League Division One last Saturday and said that some players "need to have a long, hard look at themselves."

"It was absolutely horrendous," said Cooper.

"Shocking, embarrassing, pathetic, you name it.

"It was the worst day of my AFC Ludlow career, I have never seen anything like it.

"We conceded four goals in the second half after going 1-0 up and we seemed scared.

"It is not good enough and I'm not having it.

"Some players can have no complaints if they do not play this Saturday.

"A couple of players played ok, but the rest need to have a good hard look at them

"Words cannot describe how bad it was.

"They just walked through us and we presented them with everything."

AFC Ludlow went into the half-time break 1-0 up following after a Wyrley player put the ball into his own net.

But that was as good as it got for Cooper's boys and Wyrley – who lost 6-1 against AFC Ludlow earlier in the season – ended up winning at a canter.

Cooper played in goal due to regular stopper Ian Havard being unavailable, but will be back in the dugout this Saturday.

Bromyard Town have won all their games and have already opened up a six-point lead at the top of the table.

Cooper will be without Luke Hicks, Jamie Price and Aaron Hodge for the game after they were all sent off against Trysull two weeks ago.

Hicks and Price both received their marching orders after denying goalscoring opportunities, while Hodge was shown a red card after the game for foul and abusive language.

Dale Hodge will be available though after returning from university, but Cooper is under no illusions about the task in hand.

"They are flying, so it will be a test of character for the players," said Cooper.

"The season starts from now."

AFC Ludlow will also be in action next Wednesday when they host Whitchurch Alport in the second round of the TJ Vickers Premier Challenge Cup.
