AFC Ludlow boss Dave Cooper was yet again feeling deflated despite his side winning all of their opening three games.

Cooper feels that his side need to stop letting in sloppy goals which is putting pressure on his strikers doing their job at the other end of the pitch.

Last Saturday, AFC Ludlow came from behind to beat nine-man Penncroft 5-3 and sit comfortably in second in West Midlands League Division One.

Cooper's boys have scored 15 goals in their three games, but it's the five goals that they have conceded that has annoyed Cooper.

"We're giving away too many sloppy goals, which you cannot do," said Cooper.

"We have got goals in us, but we have got to get the bad goals that we are giving away out of our game.

"It is not good enough.

"During the last two games we have created a lot of chances, but we want to push on in the league, so the proof will be in the pudding.

"We won the league last season because we didn't give any sloppy goals."

AFC Ludlow opened the scoring in the third minute against Penncroft when an opposing player put the ball in his own net.

Dale Hodge then made it 2-0 and it looked like a case of how many AFC Ludlow would score.

But Penncroft pulled a goal back via a penalty spot and then levelled matters before half time, despite having a player sent off.

Penncroft then went ahead with 25 minutes to go before Hodge grabbed his second goal of the game.

Aaron Hodge then scored from a free kick before the home side had another player sent off.

That gave AFC Ludlow the initiative to kick on and James Smith completed the scoring when he stroked the ball home into an empty net after Penncroft's goalkeeper went up for a corner in search of an equaliser.

"We scored five goals away from home yet I'm still disappointed," said Cooper.

"The last two weeks in terms of performance have been dreadful."

Cooper will be hoping for much better this Saturday when they host Trysull.

"There will be no complaints if I change the team," said Cooper.

"Liam Taylor is going to play for Hereford United's youth team, but we have got Ashley Morris and Martin Jusko back."
