CAPTAIN Dan Gower smashed home a free-kick to earn Woofferton a point against Ledbury Town Reserves in Herefordshire Football League Division One.
Midfielder Matt Hulme also bagged a winner when he shot wide, but club secretary Dave 'Magnum' Thomas said a point was well earned.
''Ledbury were a very organised and disciplined team, with only a few faces noticeable from last season'' said Thomas. ''Their first team didn't have a fixture, so they probably were helped in that way, but I think they will be a strong force this term.''
"We have Dickie Everall back from suspension this weekend in our home fixture against Wellington Colts and we'll be looking for a good result."
Brimfield opened their campaign with a resounding 5-1 win against Bartestree Reserves.
Josh Partridge bagged a brace, with Adam Warren, Dave Smith and Rhett Wilson scoring the other goals.
Boss Duncan Morris said: "With Bartestree relegated from the Premier league last season I was expecting a tough game, so it is pleasing to not only get a win in my first game, but also a bonus to top the table this week."
Two goals from Toby Gittens and one from Alex Lombardi helped Tenbury Athletic secure a 3-3 draw against Bell in Herefordshire Sunday League North Division.
