TALENTED golfer Emily Price helped England under-18 schools to a great win against Wales.

She secured the final point for her team after coming from behind in her single's match to win 2&1.

Price was three down at the 9th hole, but showed remarkable tenacity to come out on top.

"She said to one of the England coaches on the 10th tee that she would turn it around," said Price's father Kelvin.

Earlier, Price, who lives in Ashford Carbonell, teamed up with Hannah Screen to win a foursomes match 3&2, which helped England beat their neighbours 9.5 to 8.5 at a very wet and windy Conway Golf Club.

The 14-year-old, who practices at Cleobory Golf Club, has had a very successful last few months.

She has earned county and regional champion honours, secured the English Girls Open under-15 title and won all her international team matches.

Price went into the match against Wales on the back of a fantastic performance for England under-16 girls against Switzerland.

She defeated the Swiss Girls' champion and also teamed up with Louisa Brunt to win a foursomes match on a memorable debut for the team.
