LUDLOW Cricket Club’s Courtney Cooper has been selected for the England Women’s Development Programme Under-15 Super 3s summer competition.
The 14-year-old will be taking part in the programme at Wellington College, Berkshire, from July 28 to August 1.
“The summer competition phase is made up of 39 players will provide further opportunities, and Courtney has been placed in one of three squads for the week,” said and England women’s spokesman.
The week is part of the ECB England Women’s Cricket Pathway and will include two 40 over matches, two T20 matches and a series of educational and developmental classroom sessions.
“Many of the players have been part of the 2013/2014 Winter Training Programme at Loughborough which I am sure Courtnety enjoyed and benefited from,” the England women’s spokesman added.
Courtney is an important part of Ludlow 3rd and the also plays for Shropshire Under-17s and Shropshire Under-15s.
Courtney is also the captain of Ludlow Cricket Club’s Under-15 team and skippers Ludlow School’s Under-15 side.
Courtney’s brother, Keanu, is also a member of Ludlow Cricket Club and has kept wicket for the first team.
Her dad, Dave, is the manager of AFC Ludlow.
