CENTRAL midfielder Jake Pryce achieved a memorable double at AFC Ludlow’s awards evening.

The influential player picked up honours for the manager’s player of the year and the players’ player.

Liam Taylor was named Ludlow’s young player of the year, with Keanu Cooper being crowned the inaugural chairman’s award.

Manager Dave Cooper was very pleased with the evening which took place on Saturday night at the Showtime Stadium in Ludlow.

“Jake Pryce has been a superb player for Ludlow and I think he has won the players’ player award for two years in a row,” said Cooper.

“It was very hard to pick a young player of the year so the club felt it was appropriate to introduce a new chairman’s award, which is a nice idea.”

“We had a good night – we didn’t ask the players to sign registration forms – Mike Seaborne had another engagement and could not make it.”

Ludlow are gearing up for their tilt at the West Midlands League Division One crown after clinching the Division One title last term.

Cooper said: “We are thinking about starting pre-season training soon because Division One is likely to be a big step up in standard.

“There will be some exciting matches for us this season and the matches against Ledbury Town, Bromyard Town, Bartestree and Hereford Lads Club are games to look forward to.

“Bromyard Town had wanted to remain in the Premier Division but they finished bottom and other clubs voted that they should be relegated.”

Cooper thanked Matt Davies, who runs the Showtime Stadium, for putting on last Saturday’s presentation evening.
