ALL-ROUNDER Peter Lee had a glorious afternoon in Church Stretton’s thrilling six-run home win over St George’s 3rd in the Shropshire County League Division Three.

Lee bagged 7-38 to dismiss visiting St George’s for 170 after his 54 had earlier led Stretton to a respectable 176-9.

But there was disappointment for Bishops Castle who suffered a five-wicket home defeat against Wellington 3rd in Division Two.

Richard Plant (34) top scored as Castle were shot out for a below-par 107 in tricky conditions.

But Taylor (32 not out) and Harrison (32) steered Wellington the target despite good stints from opening bowler Simon Palmer (3-33) and veteran Stephen Morris (2-18).

Corvedale, who also compete in Division Two, crashed to a six-wicket home defeat against Willey.

Bradley (33) led the way for Corvedale and was backed up by Ross Mantle (19) as the hosts were skittled out for 120.

Ball (5-19) and Cotton (3-41) brought about Corvedale’s downfall before Mohammed Zahir snapped up 2-20 before Willey triumphed.

Ian Havard struck an undefeated 47 in Ludlow 3rd emphatic nine-wicket home success over Quayside in Division Four.

Adam Bowen (4-29), Simon Lane (3-9) and Alfie Holliehead (2-15) starred to bowl out Quayside for just 79.

Havard and former Corvedale skipper Craig Massey (23 not out) led the hosts’ successful reply.

Corvedale 2nd crashed to a 116-run defeat against Acton Reynald 2nd in Division Five.

Russell Wilcox (4-23) and David Golightly (2-26) restricted Reynald to 234-7 before Ian Alderson made 44 in Corvedale’s 118.

Meanwhile, Ludlow Cricket Club’s Courtney Cooper took four wickets and a catch in Shropshire Under-15 girls’ match against Warwickshire on Sunday.
