DAVE Knight has clinched the Isamy Cup, one of the largest trophies in Ludlow Golf Club’s cabinet.

Knight, from Division Two, shot a nett 65 and, with a superior back nine, took the overall trophy from head green keeper Mike Hughes.

A wobble on 13 threatened to ruin Knight’s day but he managed to settle and finished well to secure the prestigious trophy and his name on the honours board.

Head green keeper Mike Hughes shot a fantastic level gross 70 and a net score of 65.

Dave Fish, who also shot a gross 70, took second spot n Division One.

He dropped shots on the 10th and 11th holes which derailed his challenge.

But a final hole birdie was enough for Fish to hold on to second place from Nick Apperley, who achieved a nett score of 67 despite a strong finish on the back nine.

In Division Two, Knight shot a net 65 and was just one shot clear of Trevor Gray who carded a very solid round 68 despite a shaky opening hole double bogey. Roger Painter was third, and his 67 was three clear of anybody else.

Paul Wiseman headed the third tier with a score of 72, which was thre clear of Michael Groves. Des Price took third spot.
