CARL Price and long-serving captain Jimmy Thomas picked up top awards at Newcastle Football Club’s presentation evening.

The duo scooped the player-of-the-year award in Newcastle’s end-of-season dinner at the Hundred House in Purslow on Saturday night.

Wayne Griffiths picked up the player of the year prize from Newcastle’s long-standing manager John Goodridge.

John Bateson and Dewi Allen shared the much-coveted sporting personality of the year honour.

And long-standing secretary Brian Evans was honoured with an award for having been on the committee.

Chairman Edward Whately thanked everyone who had helped to run the club over the past season and presided over the handing out of the club awards.
