PROMISING Ludlow cricketer Courtney Cooper has been selected for a talent detection game at Loughborough University this Sunday.
The 14-year-old has been invited by Lisa Pagett, the England Women’s Development Programme Under-15 manager.
The 50-overs-a-side match will be played at the Haslegrave Pitch, next to the National Cricket Centre.
“This will prove to be a great opportunity for Courtney to test herself against other high potential young cricketers,” said Pagett, who is involved with Gloucestershire.
Courtney travelled with Shropshire Ladies to Cornwall last weekend but the game was rained off without a ball bowled.
She is an important part of Ludlow 3rd and also plays for Shropshire Under-17s, Shropshire Under-15s.
Courtney is also the captain of Ludlow Cricket Club’s Under-15 team and skippers Ludlow School’s Under-15 team.
