LUDLOW Amateur Boxing Club trio Chris Preece, James Key and Sam Hartley all secured wins on a memorable night of fight action in Shrewsbury last Friday.

Preece came out on top against an opponent from Wolverhampton, Key edged out Newton ABC's Nathan Williams and Hartley won all four rounds against a boxer from Telford ABC to ensure that it was a night to remember for Ludlow ABC.

"Everyone boxed really well and it all came together on the night," said Preece, from Cleobury Mortimer.

"I had to put on an extra four kilogrammes to fight my opponent, but it all went ok in the end.

"He pipped the first round, but I won the next two to win by a majority points decision.

"It was my fourth win in 11 fights."

Key had already fought Williams on two previous occasions, with both boxers having won one fight each.

But, it was Key who came out on top this time to win by a unanimous decision.

And, Hartley also won all of his four rounds to complete a great night for the club.

Club chairman Colin Woodfield said that was a great night and was delighted with the performance of his three fighters.

"It was a great night and I was pleased to see Chris, James and Sam all win," said Woodfield.
