ALISON Baylis upset the odds to deny Mark Wall a quadruple win at the Clifton-on-Teme Point to Point in Upper Sapey.

Wall's horse Skookum Tum had an unassailable lead from Ballycanal in the two-horse race of the Horses and Geldings Maiden as it went into the home straight.

But, the horse put on the brakes at the final hurdle, which caused Wall to be unseated.

Ballaycanal also declined to jump it, but Baylis was unable to retrace her steps and pop over the last to ensure her maiden victory.

"He is a real family pet and we use him to round up the sheep on the family farm," said 21-year-old Baylis.

"I could not believe it when I saw what happened to Mark at the last."

Wall, who was celebrating his 37th birthday, still enjoyed success aboard Presentandcorrect in the Mixed Open, Flying Gnu in the Intermediate and Rainbow Troute in the Mares and Fillies Maiden.
