A CLEOBURY Mortimer student is riding high after finishing eighth in the County Finals.
Lucy Worrall, aged 14, jumped both an outdoor and indoor round on her horse Coppercoin at the Bury Farm Show Centre, near Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.
Lucy, who studies at Lacon Childe School, represented Shropshire and jumped two rounds at the event that featured more than 130 riders.
However, despite clearing the first round, she rolled a pole in the second to finish with four faults and eighth place overall.
Lucy was selected to take part in the Finals after being crowned the Shropshire County Champion at 80cm at the NSEA County Challenge Qualifier at Netley Hall in Dorrington.
Team manager Rachel Croxton-Broome said: "To represent the school and county at this level is an outstanding achievement.
"Lucy is a credit to Lacon Childe School and a fantastic ambassador for the sport in Shropshire.
"We are extremely proud of her and Coppercoin and their achievements."
