LUDLOW Golf Club pair Richard Meredith and Russell Price are one step away from treading the fairways of Gleneagles at a national Pro-Am tournament.
The duo will compete against up to 70 other clubs at a regional final held at Coventry Golf Club on July 17.
A total of 16 prized slots will then be available for the 36-hole Lombard Trophy grand final at Gleneagles between September 3 and 4 - just three weeks before the Ryder Cup is held at the famous Scottish course.
Price, aged 47, is a PGA professional at Ludlow, while Meredith is a 65-year-old amateur that plays off a handicap of 11.
Meredith teed up a chance to compete at Gleneagles when he won his club's qualifying competition with a net score of 67.
The tournament, now in its 30th year, has a total prize fund of £80,000, with the winning professional taking home a cheque for £12,000.
