SOUTH African paceman Matthew Kennedy snapped up four wickets in Ludlow Cricket Club’s losing draw at Wem in the Shropshire County League Premier Division.

Kennedy bagged 4-44 and James Gerritse took 4-57 and Ian Simmons 2-50 as Ludlow dismissed Wem for a competitive 233.

Despite 35 from Ian Simmons, Ludlow struggled against former Chepstow seamer Alex Ollerenshaw (3-45) and finished on 158-8.

Skipper Bryn Simmons will be hoping Ludlow can return to winning ways against Allscott at The Burway this Saturday.

Corvedale put up a fight after being shot out for 99 and eventually suffered two-wicket defeat against Tibberton in a low-scoring home match in Division Two.

Ibrar Ahmed (4-24), Dave Williams (2-20), Matty Higgins (2-14) and Salik Javed (2-1) skittled Corvedale after Tibberton won a crucial toss on a damp wicket.

Only Zahid for Corvedale, with a counter-attacking 28, showed resistance.

Zahid took 4-20 as Tibberton limped passed the victory target with Ryan Peart (42) and, crucially, Bash Hussain's 25 not out seeing the visitors over the line.

Adam Bowen snapped up 7-20 in Ludlow 3rd’s emphatic 225-run victory over Guilsfield in Division Four.

Rob Genner (72) and former Corvedale skipper Craig Massey (64) led Ludlow to 275-6 before Bowen shot out Guilsfield for 50.

Will Armitage took 5-31 and Simon Miles 3-35 but Ludlow 4th were pipped by two wickets in a low scoring 2nd XI Division Three clash with Tibberton 2nd.

Ludlow Cricket Club’s Courtney Cooper bagged 2-16 from six overs to help Shropshire women’s county team to a 210-run win over Wiltshire at Bridgnorth on Sunday.

She took two wickets from the first two deliveries of the Wiltshire reply after Shropshire had posted 260.
