THE Tavern have clinched a league and cup double in the Tenbury and District Dominoes League.

They pipped the Bell to the league title and defeated the Fountain in the knockout cup at the finals night at the Bridge Hotel in Tenbury Wells.

The Bell’s Sarah Taylor won the women’s singles, overcoming Fountain’s Laura Morris.

The Bell’s Pete Kennet clinched the singles title, defeating Castle’s Marion Morgan.

Pembroke’s Dave Weaver and Mike Handley triumphed in the doubles with success over Castle’s Garnett Hughes and Bob Matthews.

Tavern trio Phil Gray, Les James and Bill Nash won the trebles with the Bridge’s Martin Moran, Will Houchin and Dave Morris finishing runners-up.

Bridge pair Dave Morris and Sheila Armour clinched the mixed doubles crown with Fountain’s Mike Morris and Sheila Kitchen runners up.

Bridge’s Dave Morris clinched the Captain’s Cup with Tavern’s Alan Slatter, the runner-up.

The Fountain took the wooden spoon in the league but were named the best sporting team.

Laura Morris thanked the Bridge for providing the venue and food and thanked all those who played and made it such a successful season.
