DAN Hicks topped a man-of-the-match performance with a predatory goal for Brimfield - but it was last-minute heartbreak for Duncan Morris' men after a free kick from Orleton’s Will Caswell slipped through replacement keeper Ross Crippin’s fingers. The match finished 1-1.

The derby clash in Herefordshire Division One was Orleton’s final warm-up game ahead of this week's big HFA Junior Cup final.

However, it was Brimfield who controlled the game despite being reduced to 10 men after one of their players dislocated his knee.

Morris’ side were stripped of three points last week after failing to fulfil a fixture – costing them a shot at second spot, however Orleton stay in the race and will fight it out with Ledbury and Woofferton for promotion.

A double from Alex Bright sealed victory for their cup final opponents, Tenbury Town, in a 2-0 win at home to Weston in Division Two.

In Mercian Division One, Wayne Whitbread’s Clee Hill squad are being stretched to breaking point as injuries and cricket duties continue to strip Clee Hill of players for their run-in.

However, a scratch side was still able to comfortably overcome Oakengates Rangers 3-1 thanks to a Craig Breakwell brace and a Liam Whitbread penalty.

They now sit one place above rivals Brown Clee who were held to a 3-3 draw at home to mid-table Dawley Town.

In Herefordshire League Division Three, Leintwardine Colts’ fixture against Ross Junior Reserves – like many other across the county over Easter – was postponed.
