PROMISING Ludlow boxer Terry Dean Smith says he wants to follow in the footsteps of his champion cousin.

Terry’s cousin, Dino Smith, is a four-time British boxing champion and five-time Welsh champion.

“My mother’s brother’s boy is a very good boxer and I love watching him in action”, said Terry, who turned 14 years old last month.

“Dino is from Pontypool and fights for Torfaen Warriors in Cwmbran.

“I am a big fan of Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury and I would like to turn professional in the future,” added Terry.

Earlier this year, Dino Smith won the Welsh Youth Championships and he also fought for Great Britain against Norway.

Terry has won his first Midlands vest and last, month, he bowed out in the last eight of the national schoolboy championships in Sunderland.

Terry lives in Bosbury, near Ledbury, and has been a member of Ludlow Amateur Boxing Club for around five years.

He said: “I love going to Ludlow Boxing Club. The set-up is excellent at the club and the coaches are welcoming and look after us.”
