THE search is starting for Ludlow Rugby Club’s new club coach, press officer Phil Norton confirmed.

Norton said there has already been interest in the post, which is now being advertised following the resignation earlier this month of head coach Dave Irish.

Norton says the club is hoping to have a new face on board for the start of pre-season training.

Ludlow host Aston Old Edwardians this Saturday in Midlands Two West (North) after last weekend’s 44-12 home defeat against table-topping Leek.

Will Sparrow finished off a spectacular move to put Ludlow 5-0 ahead but the visitors hit back to lead and added three tries while Keith Hodnett was in the sin-bin.

Leek bagged a further three tries in the second half before Mark Williams raced forward from deep after taking an interception.

Williams superb cross-kick was collected by Will Sparrow on the right who picked up to score.

“The run and execution of the cross-kick by Williams was the skill of a great player,” said Phil Norton.
