BISHOPS Castle Cricket Club will be encouraging the local community to help get their ground in shape for the start of the season.
The Shropshire Division Two side will be taking part in the NatWest Cricket Force scheme which encourages people to help get their clubs grounds ready for the new term.
Club Secretary Steve Morris said: “We do it every year, we we’re doing before it became trendy.”
Castle will be hoping to improve on their fifth place finish last year, but Morris doesn’t think an assault on promotion is realistic this year.
He said Castle would like to finish a couple places higher than last term.
Indoor nets have started at Welshpool leisure centre and will run on Sundays between 11.40am and 2pm.
Morris says anyone wishing to attend the nets should meet at the Castle pub at 11am.
