THE Hodge brothers will be missing for AFC Ludlow’s home clash against Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves.

Nathan and Dale Hodge are not available for Saturday’s West Midlands League Division Two match.

Luke Hicks is suspended and Jamie Hammonds is also missing for the visit from the former leaders.

AFC Ludlow are also in league action next Wednesday, travelling to the Midlands to face Sikh Hunters.

Wolverhampton Sporting Community crashed 5-1 at home to Malvern Rangers last weekend.

Ludlow boss Dave Cooper said: “I think I would be happy with a 1-0 win on Saturday – the most important thing is that we pick up three points.”

Cooper’s men were not in action last Saturday and have slipped to third place in the league.

He said: “Wrens Nest have gone above us and I think the league title is set up for them now. The title is in their grasp. It’s a very even league and it’s throwing up some strange results at the moment. We hammered Malvern Rangers the other week and now they’ve just beaten the former leaders.”

A late goal from Rob Boyd gave Ludlow a 1-0 win over Clee Hill United in a friendly at the Showtime Stadium last Thursday.

Cooper said: “There was nothing in the game – Ian Havard didn’t have many saves to make and Clee Hill worked very hard. Wayne Whitbread should be proud of his Clee Hill team.”
