CLEOBURY Mortimer Golf Club’s Josh Carpenter carved up the opposition at Worcestershire’s end-of-season county dinner.

The talented Carpenter had an outstanding 2013 and he will remember his achievements with great fondness, said Cleobury spokesman Dave Pain.

“Josh is the most successful amateur to ever represent Cleobury,” said Dave Pain.

Carpenter picked up the gold medal for the G.D Carr Cup, Youth championship, Guy Bigwood Trophy and the Secretary’s Bowl.

He was also a quarter-finalist in the English Amateur competition.

Carpenter was supported by past captains Tony Groves and Richard Chandler, club president Tom Straughton and Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club owner Graham Pain.

Dave Pain added: “Josh’s achievements during 2013 were fantastic and everyone at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club is very proud of all his achievements.

“We are all wishing him the best of luck in 2014 and, hopefully, Josh will have another excellent year on the course.”
