Bishops Castle Rugby Club warm up for local derby at Clee Hill in Midlands Four West (North)

BISHOPS Castle’s Pete Bevan has warned his men to ‘get tough’ for Saturday’s local derby at Clee Hill in Midlands Four West (North).
Castle secured a hard-fought 10-10 home draw last weekend against Cannock.
Jamie Owen scored a try and Peter Hughes kicked a penalty for Castle, who led 7-0 and 10-7 in the match.
Bevan said: “We could have beaten Cannock. “We had a long lay-off and a few of the boys were a bit rusty.
“We were not clinical enough in the right places and, over 80 minutes, a draw was the right result.”
Bevan added: “We know how tough it is going to Clee Hill – it will be a physical game and we will fight all the way. We have played enough times up there to know what type of game it will be.”
Clee Hill have slipped to third spot after a disappointing 17-5 defeat at Warley last weekend.
Gary Edwards scored Hill’s try after a quick tap-penalty but Robbie Jordan missed the conversion and they trailed 10-5 at the break.
“It was a disappointing performance by us as an attacking force but Steve Adams was outstanding and we took some plaudits from the defence,” said Edwards.
Meanwhile, Clee Hill 2nd kept their unbeaten season intact with a win with an excellent 12-10 win over Bromyard 2nd.
