CHRISTMAS is a difficult time for anyone to keep fit and healthy, says AFC Ludlow Ryan Lockley.
Lockley said: "The key is to maintain a balanced diet and to work off everything you put on.
"You should be looking to take 25 per cent from each food group.
"Make sure you fill your diet with lots of protein and lay off the carbohydrates.
"However, kids always burn off what they put on during their lunch and break times.
"A good attitude is essential for any youngster, who wants to make it in football. Anyone can achieve their dream with the right attitude.
"My advice to any child looking to get active is to go out and have a go! If you live and breathe your dream, you might even achieve it.
"If you go about things with the right attitude and work hard - you can do anything you set your mind to.
"The mental side of football is difficult to teach any youngster.
"For example I broke my leg last year in a Shropshire Challenge Cup match against Newport Town. Since then I’ve struggled."
Lockley added: "I can’t get myself back on the football pitch, because I’m worried about something happening. The mental side is difficult for every footballer."
