Clee Hill Rugby Club crash 27-12 at Harborne in a top of the table clash in Midlands Four West (North)

CLEE Hill’s players were given a round of applause after a 27-12 defeat at Harborne in a top of the table clash in Midlands Four West (North).

Skipper Matt Bowen and Craig Breakwell scored tries for Hill, with Robbie Jordan slotting a conversion.

Bowen said: “The score-line did not reflect the game. Steve Adams was Hill’s man of the match.

“Our coach, Matt Cooper, was really pleased and the home fans gave us a round of applause as we walked off.”

Matt Davies scored in maiden try for Bishops Castle in fine 22-13 win at Warley.

Matt Wilcock scored a try and kicked a conversion, while Justin Haycock and Keith Cox also scored for Castle.

Skipper Pete Bevan said: “That was our best away display of the season because Warley had lost only once at home this season.”

Castle are scheduled to travel to Church Stretton for a memorial match on December 28, 1pm kick off.

Stand-in scrum-half Sam Bills had a fine match for Cleobury Mortimer in a 26-24 defeat at Greyhound . Ed Lewis had a late try ruled out for a foot in touch.

Sam Sutton and Tom Leach scored tries for Mortimer, with skipper Allan Shields kicking two conversions and a penalty.

“We are not too disappointed with the loss – we have won 10 from our 13 games this season.”
