SKIPPER Pete Stevens says he wants to make Palmer's Meadows a 'terrible place' for local rivals Bromyard to come to on Saturday.

Tenbury are looking to send out their own Christmas message to the league in their final game of 2013.

Stevens is backing his young guns to bounce back from last weekend's 18-6 loss at Bishops Castle in Midlands Four West (North).

The loss leaves Tenbury third from bottom but turning Palmer's Meadow into a fortress, could be crucial for Tenbury to turn their season around.

Stevens said: "Bishops Castle is a tough place to go - we knew they would be strong in the forwards, and they were.

"We've got young lads in the team this year - you could get intimidated, but they didn't. We matched Castle up-front.

"I'm looking for a massive turnaround on Saturday.

"Now I want to make Tenbury a terrible place for Bromyard to come to."

A brace of first-half tries were the difference in a bruising encounter at Bishops Castle which saw Luke Brittain needing nine stitches in a knee injury.

Castle skipper Pete Bevan crossed first before Caslte scored a penalty try scored in the dying seconds of the first half, which took the wind out of Tenbury.

Two Ben King penalties kept it close but, despite number eight Will Gough's powerful running, Tenbury struggled to break down a solid Castle defence.

Stevens said: "Will Gough's had a tremendous season so far - he's really shining with his ball carrying and his fitness, as is our hooker Ian Bowkett.

"We've got new young players this year, who are getting better game by game

"They'll learn a heck of a lot from these kind of games, and this kind of season.

"As a senior player, I'll look out for them, but it's the experience they gain this year that means we'll be fighting at the top of the league again."
