DITTON Priors' duo Tim Cains and Richard May finished 32nd overall and fifth in class in the national rally attached to Wales Rally GB.
The pair suffered a crash on the first stage of third day at Dyfnant when their vehicle struck a bank, puncturing a rear wheel and snapping a brake disc.
The Ludlow Castle Motor Club duo lost just six minutes after help and assistance from some spectators.
They set the fastest time around the Great Orme at Llandudno which pulled them back up the order for a respectable finish.
Earlier, Cains and May, in their J and S Handling Peugeot 309, were 19th overall and second in class after the first day in the classic forest stages of Mid Wales, Hafren, Sweet Lamb and Myherin.
Despite a cracked exhaust manifold, the pair were 15th fastest on the second day in the Dyfi Complex and a spectator stage around Chirk Castle.
And, a class win was in their grasp, when they were caught out by a tight right-hand bend on the third day.
Church Stretton's Phil Clarke and Yorkshireman Darren Moon finished sixth overall and first in class in The Roger Albert Clark Rally.
They overcame a broken steering arm on the third special stage of the first night and their intercom system stopped working with three stages remaining.
Clarke, a co-driver, and Moon finished the opening night in seventh spot in Moon's Ford Escort MKII.
Their bad lack continued on the opening stage the following day at Duncombe Park when the engine stopped.
The pair slipped to 23rd overall but hit back to set the top five times and ended 11th overall after the second day.
Clarke and Moon attacked the final 75 miles in the Scottish Borders. Their day progressed without any mishaps and they rose to sixth overall and first in class.
