CLEE Hill veteran Gary Edwards praised the forwards after a 12-7 win at Five Ways Old Edwardians in Midlands Four West (North).
Hill came good in the second period after a scoreless first-half.
Robbie Jordan bagged the first Hill try and Dan Hart added the second, converted by Jordan.
Edwards added: “The back row of Robbie Jordan and George Edwards put in match-winning performances."
Bishops Castle second-row Keith Evans crossed for a vital try in an 11-3 win at struggling St Leonards.
Matt Isley slotted two penalties for Castle who were denied two tries, says Castle skipper Pete Bevan.
He said: “We scored two tries which the referee did not award. St Leonards are a good team and not a bottom of the table side.
Veteran Dean Hall’s hat-trick inspired Clee Hill 2nd to a 24-0 friendly win over Cleobury.
Church Stretton’s Under-17 slipped to 16-10 defeat against Bromsgrove.
Stretton will now be put in to the plate competition and will travel to Worcester this Sunday.
Meanwhile, Church Stretton seniors host Shrewsbury 2nd this Saturday, 2.15pm kick-off at the school.
