DRIVERS from Ludlow, Church Stretton and Tenbury Wells took the main honours when Loton Park Hill Climb awards were presented.

At a lunch hosted by organisers, Hagley Car Club, at the Albrighton Hall Hotel, in Shrewsbury, Sir Michael and Lady Diana Leighton of Loton Park were guests of honour and presented awards to marshals and specialist category competition winners.

Scott Moran of Ludlow, who regaine his crown as British Champion this year, also received an award for setting the fastest time of the day at one meeting and was joined by his near neighbours Darren Gumbley of Tenbury Wells, Steve Bailey of Church Stretton and Felix Summers of Tenbury Wells among the winners.

Club competition secretary Dave Parr said: “This has been a fantastic year considering that the members practice meeting at Easter was cancelled due to two feet of snow, but the sun shone on every meeting after that and the season has been a great success with many class records being broken.

“We are very proud that Loton Park regular Scott Moran was crowned British Hill Climb Champion yet again and several exciting new drivers shone forth to claim ‘fastest time of the day’ awards at meetings throughout the year.”
