Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club's Keith Gardner supports Severn Hospice
OUTGOING Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club seniors’ captain Keith Gardner has paid tribute to the generosity of members and the hard work and dedication of Severn Hospice.
Gardner finished his year on a high by presenting a £1,000 cheque to Gayna Woodland and Jayne Leach from the Severn Hospice shop in Cleobury Mortimer.
The money had been raised from a series of competitions, raffles and fines imposed during the year of Gardner’s captaincy.
Another £272.62 was raised by selling goods donated to the shop.
Gardner was supported by Graham Pain, who represented the golf club, and highlighted the positive impact that THE hospice makes to families living with life-limiting illnesses.
Gayna Woodland, from Severn Hospice, said: “We are thrilled that the senior section at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club chose Severn Hospice as their charity for 2013.
“It was a splendid fundraising effort and another example of local people taking our Hospice to their heart, particularly in their support of our High Street shop.”
