BOSS Dave Cooper heralded the return of influential defender Adie Marsh after a crucial away success.
Marsh gave a man-of-the-match display for Ludlow, who re-ignited their promotion challenge in West Midlands League Division Two.
Volleyed goals from Rob Boyd and Luke Hicks shot down FC Stafford, who had their goalkeeper red-carded in the first half.
“Adie Marsh had his first league game back after injury and was head and shoulders above everyone else,” said Cooper, who played in goal for 35 minutes.
Dave’s son, Keanu Cooper, made his Ludlow first-team debut on the wing and 16-yearold Liam Taylor impressed at left-back.
Boyd put Ludlow in front before Stafford’s keeper was dismissed for a handling offence outside the box.
Hicks doubled Ludlow’s lead after a flick from Martin Jusko.
Cooper was forced to play in goal when Ian Havard went off with a bad back and sore wrist.
“We could have scored a few more – we were much better than the previous week,” said Cooper.
Gavin Podmore is suspended for Saturday’s home match against Warstone Wanderers.
But Cooper hopes to welcome back Rob Vass, Jamie Hammonds, Simon Bull and, possibly, Dale Hodge.
“We will give it one more blast on our grass pitch and, hopefully, we will be OK,” said Cooper.
