Clee Hill Rugby Club romp to 41-0 home win over St Leonards in Midlands Four West (North) curtain-raiser
Clee Hill ran in seven tries as they stormed to a 41-0 home win over St Leonards in their Midlands Four West (North) curtain-raiser.
The Hillmen set up their success after romping into a 24-0 lead before the interval.
Adam Yarnold (2), Charlie Evans, stand-in skipper Robert Fletcher, Richie Fletcher, George Edwards and Richard Wozencroft all crossed for the hosts.
Former Tenbury player Wozencroft, who faces his old team-mates this Saturday, also slotted three conversions.
Cleobury Mortimer skipper Allan Shields was thrilled after his side’s 26-14 home success against Harborne.
Mortimer led 16-0 at half-time and were reduced to 14- 12 early in the second period before pulling away.
Alex Howman, Dave Leach, man-of-the-match Sam Sutton and Will Bates scored tries for Mortimer and Shields kicked two penalties.
Bishops Castle skipper Jack Holloway has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury earlier this month. Pete Hughes, who scored Castle’s try in a 36-7 midweek friendly defeat against Newport 3rd, will take over as captain.
Will Beddoes kicked the conversion for Castle, whose scheduled friendly last Sunday against Shropshire Young Farmers was cancelled.
