Ludlow Castle Motor Club crew Alex Allingham and Chris Williams shine at Woodpecker Stages Rally in Ludlow
ALEX Allingham and Chris Williams were the leading Ludlow Castle Motor Club crew at this year’s action-packed Woodpecker Stages Rally.
The Subaru Impreza N10 duo battled to take third in class and sixth overall despite losing four-wheel drive capability.
Huge crowds flocked to watch last Saturday’s rally based at Ludlow Racecourse.
And the Ludlow crews hit top gear, winning several class awards against top o p p o s i t i o n from all over the UK.
C o n n o r McCloskey and Francis Re gan won this year’s Woodpecker Stages Rally, organised by Sixty and Worcestershire Motor Club, which attracted 122 starters.
Former Woodpecker winner Richard Gough and co-driver Andrew Sankey survived a high speed moment in Hopton to take second in class and 13th overall.
Keith Wilde and Phil Clarke were fourth in class and 15th overall, while Mike Wilding and Jon Ballinger finished second in class and 17th overall.
James Hamer and Mike Baker took eighth in class and 35th overall, while Jeremy Rogers and Jonathan Jones were second in class and 46th overall.
Steve Ward and Michael Crawford were second in class and 64th overall and were closely followed by Simon Ridge and Simon Parry, third in class and 65th overall.
Debutant Harvey Price and codriver Chris Brooks finished 11th in class and 71st overall.
