Dave Haycox hands new playing strip to AFC Ludlow skipper Jamie Marsh
AFC LUDLOW is a family affair - as their new playing kit demonstrates.
Dave Haycox is supporting the West Midlands League Division Two team and has handed a new playing strip to Ludlow skipper Jamie Marsh.
And Dave’s son, John, who broke his ankle playing for Ludlow last season, is the kit-man and water boy.
John broke his right ankle and suffered ligament damage as he tried to clear the ball in last November’s Mercian League Premier Division match at Dawley Town.
AFC Ludlow boss Dave Cooper admits he’s not sure whether John will be fit to play this term.
“John’s got to go back to see a specialist next month because the injury has not healed properly,” said Cooper.
But John’s still involved - he’s in the dug-out at matches and is kit man and water boy.”
Cooper added: “There is a family feel at the club at the moment - it’s great to have Dave on board and supporting us.
“I have also signed on my son, Keanu, as a player and there’s a good atmosphere around the place.”
