Cleobury Mortimer's Emily Price finishes fourth at English Girls’ Golf Amateur Championships in Tiverton
RISING 13-year-old star Emily Price has finished fourth at the English Girls’ Golf Amateur Championships at Tiverton.
Emily, who plays at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, was the youngest competitor in the under-15 girls’ section in the 80- strong field from Britain and Europe.
She is the under-14 US Kids Golf European Champion and finished just three shots off the winning score in Somerset.
Emily, from Cleobury, carded 76, 77, 73, 76 on the par-74 course, to finish six-overpar after four rounds on a hot day, which included storms and high winds.
The Lacon Childe School pupil was delighted with her fourth-placed finish - the top-five players each received a prize for their efforts.
Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club spokesman Dave Pain said: “It is a pleasure to have Emily as a member of Cleobury Mortimer. She was the youngest in her age group at Tiverton with some of the girls a full two years older than her.”
