MORE than 30 players flocked to a first training session for a proposed new rugby club in Church Stretton.
And the players will now be training every Monday, between 7pm and 8pm, throughout July.
“The first session went really and there were 31 lads,” said RFU spokesman Scott Sturdy.
“The club committee are meeting soon to discuss the action plan moving forward.
“But the club should be in a position to play games from September.”
A possible home ground has been identified at Church Stretton School and leisure centre.
“This town has untapped potential in terms of rugby and I can only see the club going from strength to strength,” added Sturdy.
