THERE were plenty of thrills and spills in the Tenbury and District League finals’ night at the Bridge Hotel.
The Bell defeated the Tavern to clinch the knockout cup, while Sarah Taylor won the women’s singles and Mike Handley, the men’s singles.
Results: League title: Castle; Joint runners-up: Pembroke and Tavern. Wooden spoon and best sporting team: The Fountain.

Women’s singles: Winner: Sarah Taylor (Bell); Runnerup: Daphne Rogers (Castle).
Men’s singles: Winner: Mike Handley (Pembroke); Runnerup: Pete Kennet (Bell).
Doubles: Winners: Dave Weaver and Mark Breakwell (Pembroke); Runners-up: Conrad Griffiths and Derek Lewis (Pembroke).
Trebles: Winners: Dave Weaver, Graham Kitchen and Derek Lewis (Pembroke); Runners-up: Mark Breakwell, Mike Handley and Conrad Griffiths.
Mixed doubles: James Joyce and Laura Morris (Fountain); Runners-up: Ken Bownes and Daphne Rogers (Castle).
Captain’s Cup: Winner: Dave Farmer (Bell); Runner-up: Ken Bownes (Castle).
The league thanked the Bridge for providing the venue and food for finals’ night.
