Ludlow Amateur Boxing Club's Arnold Edmonds, Joseph Johnstone and Chadd Woodfield win in Wolverhampton

THREE Ludlow boxers triumphed at a sell-out show in Wolverhampton on Saturday night.

Arnold Edmonds and Joseph Johnstone secured their maiden wins for Ludlow and Chadd Woodfield also tasted success.

Charlie Barnfield also boxed well in the Essington ABC show but suffered a unanimous points defeat against Groom, a home boxer, in a hard-fought contest.

Johnstone gained a second-round stoppage against Essington’s Reddal.

The referee gave the home boxer two standing counts before the official stopped the contest.

Edmonds gained a unanimous points decision win over Birmingham Irish’s Finnegan in a lively contest.

“Arnold was quick on his feet and had some really good movement,” said Colin Woodfield, a parent and coach at Ludlow.

Colin’s son, Chadd, prevailed in a majority points win over Hughes, from William Perry, after a tight battle.
