Goalkeeper Zoe Morgan saves two penalty flicks in Ludlow Hockey Club women's 2-2 draw with Redditch in Worcestershire League Division One

YOUNG goalkeeper Zoe Morgan saved two penalty flicks as a depleted Ludlow women salvaged a 2-2 draw with Redditch in Worcestershire League Division One.

Ludlow fielded just nine players but Morgan’s heroics and goals from Naomi Burgoyne and Alice Oatham gave the hosts a 2-1 lead.

Redditch pushed for a leveller and scored from a penalty corner in the last five minutes.

Ludlow 2nd crashed 5-0 at Leamington Spa in 2nd XI Division Two of the ENER-G West Midlands League.

Man-of-the-match Graeme Wilcox had an inspired game for an under-strength Ludlow, while Sam Pratt, Lyam Hutchinson and Jake Watts all worked hard.

Malachi Davenport-Smith also made some fine saves and Josh Rowson blocked two shots on the line.

A brace from Joe Haywood led Ludlow 3rd to a 4-2 home win over Bridgnorth in the West Midlands North Fathom.

Tom Crump also scored for Ludlow, who led 2-1 at the break. Luke Oatham was outstanding and controlled the defenders in front of him.
